Postpartum Doula This service entails supporting the household and family while the mother is nurturing the newborn. A large part of this role is providing education about caring for the baby. As an experienced mother and doula, I help mothers recover from the birth experience and settle into a new life rhythm. Lactation support, massage, aromatherapy, bathing, changing diapers, dressing, baby wearing, learning observation skills and light housekeeping are all imparted by this invaluable service. My Postpartum Doula rate is $50 an hour. (sliding scale) Reiki Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki Sessions start at $60 an hour.
